The Narrative

Narsingh Temple is an important Hindu temple situated in Joshimath, Uttarakhand, and is a significant part of the famous Sapt Badri Yatra. The temple is dedicated to Lord Narsingh, the divine fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu in half-man and half-lion form. According to belief, the idol of Lord Narsingh was established by Adi Shankaracharya himself. The temple is known for its remarkable traditional Himalayan architecture and great religious significance. During the winter season, when Badrinath Temple remains closed due to heavy snowfall, the idol of Lord Badri is brought to Narsingh Temple and worshipped here, making it the winter seat of Lord Badrinath.
